The leader of Iraq’s National Wisdom Movement has expressed his support for Iran, warning that the US-Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic is aimed at destabilizing West Asia.
Ammar al‑Hakim made the remarks in a message read by Sayyed Qassem Mousavi, who represented the Iraqi cleric, during Friday prayers in Iran’s city of Ahvaz in the presence of a delegation of Iraqi tribesmen.
In his message, al‑Hakim said that the aggression against Iran is not merely a limited conflict but part of a large project aimed at imposing foreign will, undermining the country’s sovereignty, and changing the structure of the region in favor of hegemonic powers.
He expressed his solidarity with Iran and reaffirmed support for the country’s right to defend itself, stressing that any aggression against a sovereign country is unacceptable.
Al-Hakilm hailed the Islamic Republic’s steadfastness as a source of dignity for the region’s nations, emphasizing that defending the Islamic Republic under current conditions is, in fact, defending the stability of the entire region.
Al‑Hakim stressed that Iran is a fundamental pillar of balance in the region and a permanent reality in its political and spiritual geography—one that cannot be removed or weakened.
Noting that Iran is a country with steadfast leadership and deep awareness, he emphasized that such a country doesn’t give in to military aggression, siege, or economic pressure.
He added that those who believe otherwise are committing a strategic mistake.
Al‑Hakim warned of severe regional consequences of the war, stressing that the spillover of conflicts will push the region toward greater tension, insecurity, and instability, and pose a risk to the global economy.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he paid tribute to Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, praising his role and steadfastness in defending independence and sovereignty.
The US and Israel started a fresh round of aerial aggression on Iran on February 28, some eight months after they carried out unprovoked attacks on the country.
The attacks led to the martyrdom of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and hundreds of Iranian civilians, including women and children, as well as several senior military commanders.
Iran began to swiftly retaliate against the strikes by launching barrages of missiles and drone attacks on the Israeli-occupied territories as well as on US bases and interests in regional countries.
