US President Donald Trump has uttered insulting remarks against the Iranian nation after the United States, Israel and their regional allies suffered consecutive humiliating defeats at the hands of Iranian forces during the ongoing war.

In a post on Truth Social on Thursday, Trump described Iran as “a lunatic nation” due to their unprecedented steadfastness and resistance against the aggressors, namely the United States and the Israeli regime.

“NATO nations have done absolutely nothing to help with the lunatic nation, now militarily decimated, of Iran,” he wrote in an all-caps post on Truth Social early morning.

Trump also strongly criticized the Western NATO military alliance for its failure to join the US-led aggression against Iran.

“The U.S.A. needs nothing from NATO, but ‘never forget’ this very important point in time!” he wrote.

Critics have expressed surprise at why the mercurial Trump is seeking assistance from his Western allies if, as he claims, Iranian nuclear facilities have really been “obliterated” and the armed forces “weakened” following the US-Israeli aggression.

The remarks come as Trump has reached a dead end and is reportedly looking for an exit from the war of aggression against Iran.

Trump’s aggression against Iran has become increasingly unpopular as it has sent energy prices and food inflation skyrocketing in the United States and across the world.

Joe Kent, former director of the National Counterterrorism Center, said in recent remarks that “Iran was not an imminent threat to the US” and that the “powerful Israeli lobby forced” the US president into launching the war against Iran.

Kent stated that he “cannot support sending the next generation off to fight and die in a war that serves no benefit to the American people nor justifies the cost of American lives,” as he wrote in his resignation letter.

The US and Israel launched an unprovoked act of aggression against Iran on February 28, targeting sites across the country, including civilian areas such as schools, hospitals, and sports halls.

The coordinated attacks were carried out while negotiations were still ongoing and with the implicit or explicit endorsement of numerous countries.

Iran responded by launching missiles and drones at targets inside Israel as well as at American bases across the region.

Senior Iranian officials have asserted that any deliberate assault by the United States and the Israeli regime on Iran’s civilian and cultural heritage sites constitutes a “flagrant breach of international humanitarian law and an undisputed war crime.”

United Nations experts have recently strongly denounced the ongoing US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran as flagrant violations of international law.

This latest outburst from Trump reflects growing frustration and desperation in Washington as Iranian resistance continues to inflict heavy costs on the aggressors, both militarily and economically.
