Pezeshkian urges friendly Muslim states to break silence on US-Israeli aggression on Iran

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian calls on “friendly, brotherly, and Muslim” countries not to remain indifferent to the illegal and unjust aggression carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran.

In a message to the leaders of the countries observing the festival of Nowruz, Pezeshkian extended his congratulations on the occasion of the ancient holiday.

“Nowruz is our shared cultural heritage, and honoring it across vast regions of the world is our ancient tradition that inspires people to renew their thoughts and ideas, overcome grudges and resentments, and deepen friendships and kindness,” he said.

Noting that the Iranian nation has been subjected to two illegal US-Israeli aggressions over the past year, the president said that in the days leading up to Nowruz, the country witnessed the continuation of blatant crimes, including the killing of civilians and children, as well as the bombing of hospitals, cultural sites, and historical monuments.

“Yet, with remarkable steadfastness and bravery, Iran defends its independence, national sovereignty, and ancient homeland. Under these circumstances, it is expected that friendly, brotherly, and Muslim governments will not remain indifferent to such indiscriminate lawlessness and historic injustice,” he stated.

The US and Israel started a fresh round of aerial aggression on Iran on February 28, some eight months after they carried out unprovoked attacks on the country.

Iran began to swiftly retaliate against the strikes by launching barrage of missiles and drone attacks on the Israeli-occupied territories as well as on US bases and interests in regional countries.
