Russian President Vladimir Putin has wished Iranians a happy New Year, saying that Russia is a loyal ally and partner for the Islamic Republic.

Kremlin said on Saturday that Putin sent this message to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei.

Putin assured Iranian leaders and people that Russia remains Iran’s loyal ally and partner during these difficult times, and hopes for a successful resolution to the US-Israeli war, according to the message.

In a message on February 9, Putin had congratulated the election of Ayatollah Khamenei as the new leader of the Islamic Republic.

Since the beginning of the Israeli-US aggression against Iran in late February, Russia has consistently condemned the actions of Washington and Tel-Aviv, offering to help reduce regional crises.

The US and Israel started a new round of assaults on Iran on February 28, some eight months after they waged a war of aggression against the country.

Iran immediately began to retaliate by launching barrages of missile and drone attacks on the Israeli-occupied territories as well as on US bases and interests in regional countries.
