FM: Loss of officials won’t affect Iran’s robust political structure

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says the Islamic Republic is established on a powerful political system and thus, it will not be affected in case of losing an official.

Speaking in an interview with Al Jazeera on Wednesday, Iran’s top diplomat stressed that the Islamic Republic’s robust political system enjoys stable political, economic and social institutions.

“The presence or absence of an individual won’t affect this structure,” Araghchi emphasized, expressing wonder why American and Israeli leaders have not yet realized this fact.

“Of course, individuals exert their own effects and everybody plays their own parts, some weaker and some stronger. However, the important fact is that the political system in Iran is highly robust.”

His comments came after the assassination of Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani during Israeli strikes in Tehran.

Judiciary chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Eje’I also stressed that Iran has maintained its stability and efficiency despite the war conditions, stressing that the current US-Israeli aggression on the country has failed to cause any disruption.

In comments at a meeting with members of the Supreme Council of Judiciary, Eje’i emphasized once again that there has been no disruption or halt to the governance of the Islamic Republic, as the establishment has preserved its stability and is handling the affairs uninterruptedly, although the aggressors have assassinated a number of senior Iranian officials.

The image of American power has been shattered since the war of aggression against Iran began, Eje’i said, stressing that the foolish and evil president of the US is imploring the allies, including NATO member states, to dispatch military forces and warships to the Strait of Hormuz, which is currently impassable due to the mighty presence of Iran’s Armed Forces and the war conditions triggered by the aggressors.
