Iran’s Army has vowed to continue fighting to the last breath and avenge the blood of martyrs, hours after the new Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, called for a strong and effective response to the US-Israeli aggression.

The Army issued the statement on Thursday, following Ayatollah Khamenei’s message, which emphasized that the Iranian nation expects a robust and continued military reaction from the country’s Armed Forces after the US and Israel began their assault on February 28.

“The first enlightening and insightful message from the Supreme Leader and beloved guide, which serves as a decisive order to confront the enemies and avenge the blood of the martyred leader, Imam, and the precious martyrs of the current war, has been heard with all our hearts,” the Army said.

Iran’s retaliatory strikes began shortly after the US and Israel launched an aerial assault on Iran, including the assassination of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and several senior military commanders.

“The fighters of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while renewing their pledge of allegiance to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, have received the esteemed command of the Supreme Commander with heart and soul. With a resolve firmer than before and motivation stronger than ever, they will continue their relentless fight against the invading and criminal enemies,” the Army added.

Iran’s retaliatory actions have targeted locations in Israeli-occupied territories and US military bases in neighboring countries. The strikes have prompted the US to close its embassies in the region and issue warnings for Americans to leave.

“The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran assures that, hand in hand with the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, it will stand until the last breath to defend the independence, territorial integrity, and system of the Islamic Republic,” the Army said.

“By avenging the pure blood of the martyred leader, the valiant commanders, and our dear compatriots, it will make the enemies of proud Islamic Iran regret their actions,” it added.

The ongoing aggression, which has now entered its 13th day, has claimed the lives of more than 1,400 Iranian civilians, including children, and has targeted non-military sites, such as schools and hospitals.

Iran’s Navy Commander Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri also pledged to deliver severe blows to adversaries while maintaining the strategic closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Tangsiri emphasized that Iran will uphold its strategy of keeping the crucial waterway closed in response to the orders of the new Leader.

“In compliance with the command of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, we will strike the invading enemies with the strongest blows while ensuring the Strait of Hormuz remains closed," Tangsiri said.

Ayatollah Khamenei also hinted at the possibility of opening new fronts where the enemy remains vulnerable, should the war continue.

“Certainly, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz must remain a priority. There have also been studies regarding the opening of new fronts where the enemy has limited experience and is highly vulnerable. Activating these fronts will depend on the ongoing war situation and the interests of the country,” he added.
