The Islamic Resistance in Iraq says it has carried out 291 military operations over the past 12 days, noting that 13 American soldiers were killed and dozens more wounded during the attacks.
In a statement on Wednesday, the umbrella group of resistance factions announced that it has conducted 31 operations within the past 24 hours, using dozens of drones and missiles to target US bases in Iraq and across the region.
The statement asserted that the total number of operations carried out by the group during the past 12 days has reached 291, resulting in the deaths of 13 American troops and injuries to dozens of others, some of whom were reported to be in critical condition.
The Iraqi group also warned European countries against participating in the aggression against Iran.
According to the statement, global powers are attempting to suppress “the dignity and independence of nations” by imposing their dominance on free peoples.
It further stated that “the Zionist and American enemy” continues to seek the involvement of its allies in the war against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The group added that any country participating in the aggression would be considered an enemy, and its forces and interests in Iraq and across the region would become legitimate targets for retaliations.
In an announcement on Tuesday, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq stated that its fighters had shot down an advanced enemy drone in northern Basra Province in southern Iraq.
The group said that it destroyed a US MQ-9 drone belonging to American forces operating in the region.
The statement said the drone, identified as an MQ‑9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicle, was targeted and brought down by resistance fighters using an “appropriate weapon” in the northern areas of Basra province.
The latest developments come as the US and Israel started a fresh round of aerial aggression on Iran on February 28, some eight months after they carried out unprovoked attacks on the country.
They unleashed the dastardly terrorism by assassinating Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and top military officials. More than 1,200 civilians, including hundreds of women and children, have been martyred so far.
Iran swiftly retaliated by launching barrages of missile and drone attacks on the Israeli-occupied territories as well as on US bases in the regional countries.
