The judicial proceedings against Iranians overseas who cooperate with the enemy have entered the operational phase, according to a knowledgeable source.
Prosecutorial proceedings have commenced, alongside measures including asset inquiries, identification, and both systemic and physical seizures in preparation for future confiscation, a source told Press TV.
The development follows an announcement by the Attorney General's Office that swift action will be taken to identify Iranian nationals residing overseas who "align with, accompany, or cooperate with the enemy."
Press TV reported on Sunday that Iran will confiscate assets and properties of Iranian nationals living abroad who are guilty of collaborating with the enemy amid the US-Israeli war of aggression against the Islamic Republic.
In a statement on Sunday, the Attorney General’s Office cited a law passed in October last year that stipulates any form of cooperation with the Israeli regime, the United States or other hostile states or groups is subject to “confiscation of all property” and other legal punishments in accordance with the Islamic Penal Code.
Any intelligence or espionage activity for the aforementioned regimes, states and groups, or any of their affiliated elements, will carry the same punishment and the death penalty, it warned.

"Any operational action on behalf of the Zionist regime or hostile governments, including the US government or other hostile regimes and groups, or on behalf of any of their affiliated elements, against the country's security, warrants the confiscation of all assets, subject to the latter part of Note (5) of Article (19) of the Islamic Penal Code approved on 2013/4/21 with subsequent amendments and additions, and the penalty of execution," the law stipulates.
“Furthermore, any intelligence activity or espionage for the aforementioned regimes, governments, and groups or any of their affiliated elements warrants the confiscation of all assets, subject to the latter part of Note (5) of Article (19) of the Islamic Penal Code, and the penalty of execution."
The Attorney General's Office further emphasized that the blood of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has enhanced the unity of the nation, and thanked the public for playing an effective role in strengthening national security.
The US and the Israeli regime launched a joint military aggression on Iran on February 28, assassinating Ayatollah Khamenei and several senior military commanders.
Since then, the aggressors have attacked military sites and civilian infrastructure, including schools and hospitals, in terror strikes across the country, killing more than 1,300 people.
In response, the Iranian armed forces have launched dozens of waves of retaliatory missile and drone strikes against Israeli military sites inside the occupied territories and US military bases in regional countries.
