IRGC dismantles anti-Iran armed terrorist group in Kordestan

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has dismantled an armed terrorist group in the Iranian province of Kordestan, eliminating one of its members and arresting six others, amid American attempts to create chaos in the Islamic Republic.

The Public Relations of the Hamzah Seyyed al-Shuhada (AS) Headquarters announced that its fighters, along with the unknown soldiers of the Imam of the Time (AS), carried out a joint intelligence-operational preemptive action in Kordestan on Sunday.

The operation resulted in the destruction of “an armed team of internal agents of anti-[Islamic] revolution terrorist groups in the northwestern area of Kordestan Province”, leaving six arrested and one killed.

According to the statement, “large amounts of weapons and ammunition, including Kalash rifles, RPG-7s and grenades” were seized during the operation.

The statement warned the internal agents of the terrorist groups that they will be dealt with “decisively and harshly” if they take any action to create insecurity in the country.

This comes as the CNN, citing multiple unnamed sources, recently reported that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) intends to arm Kurdish militants in a bid to trigger a civil war in Iran after the United States failed to achieve its goals in the unprovoked war against the Islamic Republic.

The US and Israel started a fresh round of aerial aggression on Iran on February 28, some eight months after they carried out unprovoked attacks on the country.

Iran began to swiftly retaliate against the strikes by launching barrages of missiles and drone attacks on the Israeli-occupied territories as well as on US bases in regional countries.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) also carried out missile and drone strikes against the main bastions and headquarters of the anti-Iran terrorist groups in the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region of northern Iraq.

The attacks came as five Kurdish separatist groups, including the so-called Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI), last week announced a political coalition to challenge the Islamic establishment in Iran and seek secession of Kurdish areas from the rest of the country. ‌
