The Iranian armed forces have destroyed four advanced American radar systems during reprisal attacks targeting the United States’ anti-missile defense infrastructure in the region.

In a statement on Sunday, spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters Lieutenant Colonel Ibrahim Zolfaghari said the highly advanced Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) radar units equipped with long-range detection capabilities were struck and destroyed within the past 24 hours.

He said the radars were based in al-Rubah, al-Ruwais, al-Kharj, and Azraq.

The spokesperson added that the radar systems were providing real-time intelligence to the missile defense network jointly operated by the United States and Israel.

“As a result of the severe damage inflicted on the enemy’s early warning network, air-raid sirens in the occupied territories now sound only at the moment missiles strike,” the statement said.

In a separate announcement, the public relations office of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) said its air defense systems had intercepted and destroyed an advanced Israeli drone over western Iran.

According to the statement, the unmanned aircraft was identified as a Hermes 900 and was tracked by advanced air defense systems operating under the country’s integrated air defense network before being shot down.

The US and the Israeli regime launched a joint military assault on Iran on February 28, assassinating Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and several senior military commanders.

Since then, they have attacked military sites and civilian infrastructure, including schools and hospitals, in terror strikes across the nation, killing more than 1,200 people.

The Iranian armed forces have launched waves of retaliatory missile and drone strikes against US military bases in regional countries that Washington has used to launch attacks against the Islamic Republic.
