Mexican anti-Trump protesters rally against US intervention in Latin America

Hundreds marched on Saturday in downtown Mexico City to demand freedom for the Venezuelan ousted president, Nicolas Maduro, and denounce US interference in Latin America.

The organizer of the march, the Mexican Anti-Imperialist Front for Venezuela, called for people from different groups to rally under the motto, "One, two, three—on behalf of me and all of our Latin America," to defend sovereignty and the self-determination of peoples from foreign aggression, according to Mexican media.

February 3 marked one month since the US captured Maduro and first lady Cilia Flores in an unprecedented military intervention in Caracas.

The Mexican government has condemned the US military intervention and repeatedly stated its commitment to multilateralism, dialogue, and diplomacy as the means to resolve conflicts between countries, in accordance with the framework of the United Nations and international law.
