Coordination Framework gives Kurdish parties 48-hour deadline to choose presidential nominee

Iraq’s political deadlock continues as parliament has failed for a second time to convene a session to elect the president.

The Coordination Framework has recently visited the Kurdistan Region to resolve the problem between Kurdish blocs over the presidency, but uncertainty over the government formation keeps growing amid internal disagreements and external pressures.
