Iranian officials have strongly condemned the European Union’s decision to designate the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps as a "terrorist organization." Iranian officials have called the move against the IRGC illegal, political, and dangerously provocative.
Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said that the consequences would fall on the European countries that undertook the action.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry has also condemned the EU's decision, while another senior Iranian official said that Western governments were distorting the concept of terrorism with such moves.
