US deputy secretary of state’s visit to Iraq raises serious questions

US Deputy Secretary of State Michael Regas is in Iraq on an official visit.

The timing raises a number of questions, but a US Embassy statement says Regas’s trip focuses on strengthening economic relations between Washington and Baghdad. As our correspondent Nawar AL Rikabi reports, Regas reportedly held a series of meetings with senior Iraqi officials.
