Israeli military forces have shot dead a Palestinian teenager after he wounded two Israeli soldiers in a stabbing operation north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.

The deadly incident occurred on Highway 465 in the vicinity of the illegal Ateret settlement on Tuesday morning, when 18-year-old Mohammed Asmar inflicted injuries on a pair of the occupying entity’s soldiers, the Palestinian Information Center reported.

Asmar, from the village of Beit Rima, was stopped by Israeli soldiers for questioning before he wounded two of them in a stabbing operation, after which, the regime’s forces immediately opened fire, killing Asmar on the spot, according to Israeli sources.

In retaliation, Israeli forces stormed and besieged several Palestinian villages and towns in northern Ramallah, closing off key roads and imposing heightened security measures.

Following the incident, the Israeli army seized Asmar's body, a common practice by Israeli forces in such cases, preventing his family from performing burial rites.

The incident further highlights the ongoing tension in the occupied West Bank, where Israeli military actions and settlement expansion continue to escalate, leading to more bloodshed and hardship for Palestinians.

In another development on Tuesday, Israeli forces ordered the evacuation of residents from 13 nearby buildings as they demolished the home of Abdul Karim Sanoubar in the occupied West Bank.

Sanoubar, who is currently imprisoned, is accused of carrying out a bombing on an Israeli bus last February.

The demolition took place early on Tuesday, targeting his family’s home, according to local sources.

The forced evacuations, which left residents displaced, are part of Israel’s ongoing policy of demolishing homes as a form of collective punishment. The practice, widely condemned by human rights organizations, continues to exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in the occupied territories.
