Venezuela has responded defiantly to intensified pressure by the United States, including President Trump’s threats. Venezuelan foreign minister Pinto denounced US threats as unjustified aggression against Venezuelan people.
Also, Senator Chuck Schumer rebuked Trump for taking reckless escalatory actions against Venezuela, saying Trump is pushing the US toward another costly foreign war without congressional approval.
President Donald Trump says that Venezuelan airspace is closed. Unilaterally threatening a sovereign country in this way and committing extrajudicial killing are against international law.
So where is the outcry from the countries of the world? Is this simply another nail in the coffin of the old international order?
