Israel’s systematic crimes against Palestinian inmates

The plight of Palestinian inmates in Israeli prisons has become a defining human rights crisis, exposing what many advocacy groups and international observers describe as systematic crimes against detainees.

Reports from UN agencies and Palestinian prisoner advocacy groups document a disturbing pattern of torture, sexual violence, starvation, medical neglect, and arbitrary detention without trial.

With thousands imprisoned, including women and children, many held under administrative detention, the incarceration system has become an extension of broader policies of domination and dehumanization.

This edition of Spotlight seeks to see whether these practices constitute not isolated abuses, but a deliberate, institutionalized machinery of oppression that violates international law and the most fundamental principles of human dignity.
