Iranian students win 3 gold medals, one special award at ISIF 2025 in Indonesia

Iranian student inventors have achieved remarkable success at the International Science and Invention Fair (ISIF) 2025, securing three gold medals and a special award. 

Mehdi Rashidi Jahan, the head of the Iranian team, made the announcement on Saturday, highlighting the exceptional performance of Iranian participants at the event held in Indonesia’s island of Bali from November 12 to 15. 

"In this competition, more than 800 teams from 24 countries competed, and Iranian student inventors stood out by winning three gold medals and enhancing Iran's global scientific standing," Rashidi Jahan said.

“Teams from the United States, China, South Korea, Mexico, Taiwan, Malaysia, Canada, Luxembourg, Turkey, Indonesia, and others were present at the global championship,” he added.  

Iranian competitors showcased their expertise in various fields, including biotechnology, technology education, artificial intelligence, mathematics, technology and engineering, chemistry, and nanotechnology. 

Their outstanding performance led them to secure the main gold medal of the competition, competing alongside strong teams from China, the United States, Mexico, Indonesia, and Vietnam. 

Raman Nafarieh received a gold medal and a special award in biotechnology, while  Radin Abbasi and Sam Rashidi, clinched a gold medal in engineering. Additionally, Matin Hayati won a gold medal in educational technology and artificial intelligence.

Rashidi Jahan emphasized the highly competitive nature of the event, underscoring the strong scientific and research capabilities of Iranian students despite facing tough competition with top global teams. 

He further highlighted that this achievement reaffirms Iran’s prominent position among the world’s leading scientific and technological communities.
