Iran’s men’s volleyball team defeated Turkey 3–1 on Thursday to claim the gold medal at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, securing the country’s tenth gold of the competition.

The Iranian side won with set scores of 25–20, 25–20, 17–25 and 25–17, marking their sixth consecutive victory in the tournament and fifth straight championship title at the Games.

Earlier on Thursday, Iran’s women’s doubles table tennis team of Neda Shahsavari and Shima Safaei captured the gold medal after defeating Turkey 3–1 in the final.

Later in the evening, Shahsavari earned another gold by overcoming Syria’s Hend Zaza 4–2 (7–11, 10–12, 11–9, 11–9, 11–8, 13–11) in the women’s singles final. Shahsavari had previously won silver at the last edition of the Games in Konya.

The victories brought Iran’s gold medal count to ten at the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games, organized by the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) to promote unity and friendship among Muslim-majority nations.

The Riyadh edition features thousands of athletes from more than 50 countries competing across over 20 sports disciplines.
