South Africa’s president hits back at Trump for boycotting G20 summit in Johannesburg

South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa says boycott politics does not work as he criticized the US’s decision to skip the G20 leaders’ summit to be held in just over a week in Johannesburg.

Trump has said that no US official would attend the gathering. Relations between Pretoria and Washington have been testy, with South Africa’s ambassador expelled from the US earlier this year. Only Argentina's President has said he will not attend the summit in alliance with Trump, but Buenos Aires will still send a delegation. Hassen Seria reports.
