Israeli forces have killed at least three Palestinians as they expanded their deadly raids across the occupied West Bank.
The official Palestinian news agency WAFA, citing local sources, reported that Israeli occupation troops stormed the village of Kafr Qud with military reinforcements on Tuesday.
The forces surrounded a site on one of the villages’ agricultural lands and fired live ammunition at the three young men, killing them. They also seized the men’s bodies.
The Israeli military then carried out an air strike in the area, according to locals.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health later identified the victims as Abdullah Muhammad Omar Jalmana, 27, Qais Ibrahim Muhammad al-Baytawi, 21, and Ahmed Azmi Arif Nashti, 29.
Hamas slams Israeli killing
The Hamas resistance movement later condemned the assassination of the three Palestinian fighters, stating that their killing “constitutes a new crime added to the bloody record of crimes committed by the occupying regime against our people in the occupied West Bank, as part of a policy of systematic field executions.”
“We affirm that this crime represents the bloody policy of the occupation and its dangerous escalation in the West Bank, and marks a desperate attempt to subjugate our people and break their will. This will never be achieved, no matter how extreme the brutality of the Zionist entity could be,” the Gaza-based group said in a statement.
Hamas called on all Palestinians to escalate confrontations with Israeli forces, and to pursue field and political unity in order to counter the ongoing aggression against Palestinian lands, nation, and holy sites.
Israeli settlers tear-gas five Palestinians in West Bank
Separately, at least five Palestinians from the same family sustained tear gas inhalation after dozens of illegal Israeli settlers went on a rampage and attacked their home in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.
The municipality of As Samu’ town announced in a post published on the social media platform Facebook that illegal settlers fired tear gas canisters at the home of local resident Mahmoud al-Daghameen on Monday evening, causing members of his family to suffer from breathing problems.
The settlers attacked the house in the southeastern Wadi Ajheish neighborhood of the town, the municipality added.
The attack comes as Palestinians throughout the West Bank have witnessed an increase in violence from Israeli military forces and settlers amidst the Tel Aviv regime’s genocidal war in the Gaza Strip, which commenced in October 2023.
Since then, Israeli settler and military attacks have killed more than 1,000 Palestinians and wounded more than 10,000 others, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
According to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Palestinian property has been targeted over 2,400 times in the past two years, resulting in the displacement of at least 3,055 individuals.
In July 2024, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled that Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory is illegal and urged the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East al-Quds.
