Extreme wide shot rough seas at Hellshire Beach as Hurricane Melissa is expected to hit the island.
Melissa has maximum sustained winds of up to 140 mph (220km/h) and is expected to strengthen as it heads towards Jamaica, where it should make landfall Monday (October 27) night or Tuesday (October 28).
The U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) warned that Jamaica and southern Hispaniola could face 15 to 30 inches of rain, with some areas receiving up to 40 inches.
