In the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, as many as 88 Palestinian prisoners were released on Monday as part of the first phase of a deal to end the Gaza war.
While the moment was filled with joy, it also revealed the harrowing conditions inside Israeli jails. That’s because many of the freed appeared weak and severely malnourished.
