Clashes erupt along Pakistan-Afghanistan border amid mounting tensions

Dozens of soldiers have been killed in intense overnight clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan, marking the most serious fighting along the borders since the Taliban came to power following the US withdrawal in 2021.
Both sides traded heavy fire after the Taliban accused Pakistan of violating Afghan airspace, a charge Islamabad denied.
