IRGC warns of ‘heavier’ response to new aggression as it marks anniv. of True Promise II

Iranian ballistic missiles blast off during the Islamic Republic’s retaliatory attack, dubbed Operation True Promise II, against the Israeli-occupied territories on October 1, 2024.

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has warned the enemies of a “heavier, more precise, and more deadly” response to any new act of aggression against the country compared to the Islamic Republic’s previous anti-Israel operations.

The IRGC issued a statement on Thursday, marking the first anniversary of Operation True Promise II, which involved the firing of precision-strike missiles and drones at strategic sites in the occupied territories in retaliation for Israel's assassinations of the Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah’s leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and IRGC commander Abbas Nilforoushan.

The attack was the second in three anti-Israel operations that Iran carried out in response to Israel’s criminal acts in the region.

It said that during the operation, Iranian missiles penetrated the Zionist regime’s multi-layered air defenses supported by the US and NATO and destroyed their targets with “astonishing accuracy,” rendering Iron Dome, Arrow and David’s Sling systems “ineffective”.

"Any new mistake or potential aggression from the enemy’s camp will be met with a response heavier, more precise, and more deadly than True Promise operations— a response capable of bringing the fake Zionist regime closer to the promised hell,” it warned.

Led by high-ranking Iranian military commanders Mohammad Baqeri, Hossein Salami, Amir Ali Hajizadeh, and Mahmoud Baqeri, Operation True Promise II humiliated the terrorist Tel Aviv regime and created an epic that brought joy, pride, and exhilarating enthusiasm to the Iranian nation, the resistance front, anti-imperialists, and those seeking justice, the IRGC pointed out.

It further said, “Operation Promise II was not only a severe punishment for the enemy’s act of aggression and crimes amid the silence of impotent and inactive international bodies, but also a clear message to the world and the vile, wolf-like Zionist regime that the era of cost-free threats has ended, and that any aggression will be met with a regret-inducing response.”

Iran launched its first direct attack on the occupied lands in April 2024, firing some 300 attack drones and missiles in response to Israel’s deadly bombing of the consular annex of Iran’s embassy in the Syrian capital of Damascus.

In the third anti-Israel operation, Iranian forces targeted military and intelligence sites in the occupied territories after Israel launched a blatant aggression against Iran on June 13 with the green light from the United States.

The terrorist assault triggered a 12-day war that killed at least 1,064 people in Iran. On June 24, the Islamic Republic, through its successful retaliatory operations, managed to impose a halt to the Israeli-US aggression.
