An Iranian official has praised the country’s defense capabilities, warning Israel of a crushing response if it puts a foot wrong.

Ramezan Sharif, head of the headquarters commemorating the Palestinian Intifada and International Quds Day, made the remarks on Sunday.

“If the Zionists make a mistake, they will receive a firm response from the Islamic Republic,” he said.

“We will never wait for anyone’s assistance in defending our homeland, because we are capable in the field of national security.”

Speaking at a press conference marking the second anniversary of Operation al-Aqsa Flood, which was launched by Palestinian resistance movements against the Israeli regime, Sharif said the operation brought the issue of Palestine back to global public attention.

He also noted that the October 7, 2023, operation proved that the Zionists are vulnerable to defeat and that a new generation of Palestinians is determined to continue the struggle against the occupying regime, which has for years been engaged in mass killings against the nation.

“Over the past two years, the people of Gaza have endured horrific bombardments, famine, sanctions, and border closures, yet they have never acted against the resistance movement. Meanwhile, the enemy has tried with all its military might to destroy the resistance, but the Palestinians keep carrying out successful operations,” he added.

Sharif further hailed Operation al-Aqsa Flood as a “major achievement for the Palestinian cause,” saying it sparked waves of global support for Palestine.

Meanwhile, he expressed hope that leaders of Islamic countries will join the international pro-Palestine campaign to wipe “the cancerous tumor (Israel)” off the face of the earth.

In the past two years, two million Zionists have left the occupied territories and will never return, putting the usurping entity on the verge of collapse, Sharif emphasized.

Israel unleashed a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, following Operation al-Aqsa Flood. It has so far killed 64,803 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 164,264 others in its brutal onslaught on the besieged territory.

Over the same period, the criminal regime has also waged acts of aggression against countries such as Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Qatar, and Yemen.
