US military presence near Venezuela

Tensions between the United States and Venezuela continue to soar as President Nicolas Maduro has urged his country’s ruling party to prepare for armed conflict in response to any US attack.

The latest flashpoint came after the US sank a Venezuelan boat in the Caribbean, killing 11 people, a strike that Caracas condemns as an unlawful extrajudicial killing amid Washington's accusations of drug trafficking.
