Famed for its craftsmanship, Kashmir’s handmade carpets are considered a prized possession in homes across the world. But they are now at risk of becoming unaffordable luxuries. With the United States being the largest importer of Kashmiri carpets, the new tax hike is threatening to unravel what remains of this centuries-old tradition.
