India’s crackdown on migrants aimed at disenfranchising Muslims

The northeastern Indian state of Assam has been conducting massive eviction drives, displacing thousands of families, mostly Bengali Muslims.

Thousands of homes have been bulldozed in recent months too. Opposition parties call the moves a politically motivated election stunt aimed at polarizing voters.
