Iran’s national para-taekwondo team has once again asserted its supremacy on the continental stage, clinching the Asian championship title for the tenth consecutive year.

The Iranian athletes earned a total of 12 medals -- three gold, three silver, and six bronze -- throughout the tournament that wound up in Kuching, western Malaysia, on Friday.

Ali-Reza Bakht, Hamed Haghshenas, and Marziyeh Nasrollahi led the charge with gold medal finishes.

Silver medals were proudly earned by Saeid Sadeghianpour, Maryam Abdollahpour, and Amir-Mohammad Haghighatshenas, while Aylar Jami, Leila Mirzaei, Mohammad-Taha Hassanpour, Roza Ebrahimi, Zahra Rahimi, and Mehdi Pour-Rahnama secured bronze, each medal adding weight to the Islamic Republic’s already dominant presence.

Government congratulates champions

In response to the enviable achievement, the Ministry of Sports and Youth issued an official message of appreciation, applauding the national para-taekwondo team for earning the country’s tenth Asian title.

With their consistent stellar performance, Iranian athletes have even taken over defenders such as South Korea, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and China throughout the tournament’s history.
