Five female Palestinians have been subjected to severe assaults in an Israeli prison, according to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office (ASRA) that records the crimes inside Israeli prisons.

ASRA denounced the Israeli regime on Friday for the inhumane conditions under which female Palestinian prisoners are held inside its prisons, particularly the notorious Damon prison.

ASRA said five female prisoners, including minors, were subjected to severe assaults, including solitary confinement, threats, verbal insults and spitting by those running the Israeli facility.

The office also reported cases in which the Israeli prison administrators used tear gas and police dogs against prisoners.

The defender of Palestinian prisoners' rights also said that the prison administrators had imposed humiliating measures on female Palestinian inmates during transfers between cells.

Inmates who are pregnant and those suffering from cancer are being detained in prison rooms lacking most basic sanitary conditions, it added.

Earlier reports by the Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office said at least 545 women had been abducted since October 7, 2023, after the Israeli regime unleashed its brutal military campaign against Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

The prisoners' rights group has documents numerous testimonies confirming that the prisoners are subjected to severe physical torture and systematic starvation inside prisons, which led some of them to lose half their body weight.

“It also poor and substandard food [that] leads to illness and severe weight loss,” ASRA reported.

Shocking testimony about the conditions of detention of female prisoners, who had been subjected to insults, curses, and death threats immediately after abduction, have been also reported by Palestinian media.

The Palestine Prisoners' Studies Center said the Israeli forces had intensified their brutal conduct against female Palestinian prisoners who had been abducted by the regime, urging the international community to break their silence and take an action against the criminal actions of Israel.

In this regard, Israeli rights group B’Tselem reported regime authorities were systematically abusing Palestinians in prison camps set up after the onset of the genocidal war against Gaza, subjecting them to severe violence and sexual assault.

The Israel forces latest strikes on Friday killed at least 41 Palestinians, including civilians seeking food at aid distribution centers, according to medical sources.
