Iran economic diplomacy
One of the main goals of the US sanctions was to isolate Iran from the rest of the world and to devastate its economy. Neither isolation nor devastation has been the result of the illegal sanctions, although pressure has been put on the people and on Iran’s economy.
Though media campaigns may have made some think that Iran’s economy has been destroyed, the reality is that the Islamic Republic, despite all the sanctions and restrictions, has the 22nd strongest economy in the world, according to Purchasing Power Parity (PPP).
