Bidding farewell to loved ones, Gazans say intl. law has utterly failed
The Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip have bid farewell to their loved ones killed in Israel's brutal strikes on the territory, saying international law has utterly failed to hold the regime accountable for its crimes.
Footage filmed on Friday shows Palestinians mourning and comforting each other while saying tearful goodbyes to their loved ones as well as performing Islamic funeral prayers. Then, they carried the bodies of the deceased to be transported for burial.
"Those dead people should have been presumably safe in their homes and protected by the rules of law. Nevertheless, being a legal expert, I have come to realize that the law has fallen down, and international law has utterly failed. We are skeptical about [the effectiveness of] international law," a doctor said.
"Had Israel been in the position of the Palestinians, all hell would have broken loose. Unfortunately, they seek to implement the global Masonic policy to eliminate the Palestinian cause. However, this scene demonstrates that the Palestinians are rooted here and our cause is going to proceed even if we have one Palestinian left. We reflect our latent humanity more than anyone else on this Earth," he added.
The Palestinian Health Ministry issued a statement on Saturday saying the total death toll from Israel's brutal onslaught on the besieged Gaza Strip has reached 20,258, mostly women and children, with 53,688 people injured.
