Sarajevo mayor, Benjamina Karic, has filed a criminal complaint against an Israeli businessman who had brutally harassed and threatened the Bosnian official and her family.

Karic wrote on her Facebook profile that she was forced to file the lawsuit against the chairman of the Abraham Group, who is also the CEO of Aluminij Industries, after facing daily harassment by him, local media reported this week.

“I became the target of this man the moment I did not allow the plaque on the City Hall to be covered for the purpose of celebrating the State of Israel Day, and to several other requests that I considered provocative, although I was ready to give in to everything else," Karic wrote on her Facebook profile, explaining why she filed the complaint against Israeli industrialist, Amir Gross Kabiri.

"The attacks became more brutal the moment I publicly condemned the killing of innocent civilians in Palestine, but also the killing of innocent civilians in Israel,” she added.

She said Kabiri, who had sent her photos of dead children through social networks, claimed she supported the Palestinian resistance movement fighting against the atrocious Israeli regime while denouncing her condemnation of the killing of civilians in Gaza.

“With his posts, he motivates and invites his supporters to do the same. He shares and sends videos and photos of brutal murders and abuse to me personally with messages that I perceived as a threat to the safety of not only me personally, but also my family, telling me in them that ‘history will judge me very soon’, and that my views ‘will not be forgiven’, etc.,” the mayor explained.

She said that she filed her complaint to the Federal Police Administration because of the increasingly frequent messages that made her feel afraid for herself and her child.

Karic also filed a lawsuit for defamation against the director of Aluminij, although she did not intend to initially.
