Dishonest pause
A temporary truce has been agreed that would see 50 women and children released from Gaza and 150 Palestinians inside Israeli jails released and a temporary humanitarian pause implemented.
With the exact details of the temporary sensation still to be revealed, there are question marks about just what this means for the ongoing bombardment of Palestinians living inside Gaza.
Even after the so-called truce was announced, Israel has continued to pound Gaza inflicting yet more death and misery upon the people who have been living a nightmare for the past six weeks. The deal seems to have been welcomed by members of the international community, but it does not answer a fundamental question which is what happens next.
