US autoworkers on strike

Labor strikes against the top three automakers in the United States are expanding amid unsuccessful contract negotiations.

The president of the United Auto Workers union has called for an additional 7,000 workers to walk off the job. This, as the union and automakers remain far apart on key issues, especially pay.
