US delegation Syria visit

A recent visit by a US delegation led by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Ethan A. Goldrich to northeastern Syria has drawn outrage from Damascus.

In a statement, the Syrian Foreign Ministry branded the entry of the delegation to the country’s territory as “unauthorized.”

The ministry categorically condemned the visit as what it called “a flagrant violation” of Syria’s sovereignty and a breach of international law and United Nations Security Council resolutions.

The delegation has held meetings with foreign-backed terrorists, including the Syrian Democratic Forces or SDF.
