Iran’s accession to BRICS

Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE have officially been invited to join the BRICS group of emerging economies.

Iran's accession to the BRICS group, which has so far included Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, is being hailed as a strategic success for its foreign policy. This permanent membership in the group of global emerging economies is viewed as a historic event and a strategic success for the Islamic Republic in the face of Western hegemony and illegal economic punitive measures.

Meanwhile, there are several reasons behind the recent rise of tension in Syria, especially between the Iranians and Russians on the one hand, and the Americans on the other. Despite the differences between the motives of the Russians and that of the Iranians, the assessment on both sides was the same, and it concluded that the US presence in the Middle East region is declining, for known reasons, and will leave a void that must be filled starting with Syria.
