US, South Korea, Japan Camp David deal faces pushback

Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, U.S. President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio arrive for a joint news conference following three-way talks at Camp David on August 18, 2023 in Camp David, Maryland.

The US, Japan and South Korea have agreed to expand cooperation against threats in the Indo-Pacific. The trilateral agreement, made in a summit on Friday, has drawn criticism. South Korean NGOs suggest that Washington is further provoking military tensions.
