Firefighters still battling wildfire on Spanish island of Tenerife

Images released by UME, the Spanish military emergency unit, show firefighters on the Spanish island of Tenerife as they battle a wildfire that has burnt more than 11,600 hectares so far and caused 12,000 people to flee, according to the local authorities.

The blaze broke out late Tuesday in a mountainous northeastern area, quickly morphing into the Canary Islands' biggest-ever wildfire. Police have confirmed that the fire was started deliberately.
