Israeli court hands 30-year jail term to Palestinian man on alleged attack

An Israeli court has sentenced a Palestinian youth from occupied al-Quds to 30 years in prison over his alleged role in a car-ramming attack in February 2020.

According to the court’s ruling on Wednesday, Sanad Turman has to pay a fine to 12 Israeli forces, who were run over in the incident.

However, Turman’s family denied the court’s allegations and emphasized that he did not intend to carry out a car-ramming attack.

Turman turned himself in a day after the incident and reaffirmed that he had no intention to deliberately run over the Israeli soldiers.

Mohammad, Turman’s brother, said he ran away when the accident happened because he feared the Israeli soldiers might kill him.
