Politicians, scholars, academic figures, researchers, and activists have come together in the Iranian capital to discuss one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises in history: the ongoing war in Yemen.

Sponsored by Shahed University, this scientific gathering is aimed at shedding light on various aspects of the crisis while expressing solidarity with the Yemeni people.

The secretariat said it has received about 70 articles and over two dozen prominent activists participated in the event to present their viewpoints.

A photo and book exhibition has been set up on the sidelines of the conference with the same objective and the first thing that comes to mind is the double standards that Yemeni people are facing.

Yemen is facing the worst humanitarian crises in the world with a staggering 23.4 million people in need of humanitarian assistance and 80% of the population struggling to access food, healthy drinking water, and adequate medical services.

The dire humanitarian situation in Yemen has long been neglected by mainstream media. Conferences like this are an opportunity to shed more light on the situation on the ground and inform public opinion.
