Syrians mark General Soleimani’s assassination anniversary

Syrian, Iranian, Palestinian and Yemeni officials have gathered in Damascus to pay tribute to the martyred commander of Iran’s Quds Force Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani. Iran’s ambassador to Syria said the ceremony is aimed at renewing allegiance to the thoughts of General Soleimani who foiled Western plots in the region.
Speakers recalled General Soleimani’s significant efforts in countering the plots of the Western powers and their proxies in the region, primarily his role in supporting the Palestinian resistance against the Israeli enemy.
Anthems praising the resistance and General Soleimani were chanted during the event. The ceremony also included an exhibition showcasing various stages of General Soleimani’s life, quotes and battles against terrorism.
For over a week, Syrians organized many events to commemorate General Soleimani’s achievements in Syria in a show of respect for a commander who stood beside them during their hardships and played a key role in eliminating terrorism almost in every inch of Syria’s territory.
