Lawmakers condemn impunity given to Israel by EU

EU legislators have been told that 2022 has been the deadliest year for Palestinians in the besieged West Bank since 2005. Apparently, Israel continues to kill and grab land knowing there will be no consequences from the West.

Lawmakers say the European Commission makes statements but never proposes sanctions against Israel.

It's suggested the EU happily applies sanctions on countries when the US tells it to but Israel is always left to its own devices.

Activists say the EU could use trade as a tool to help protect Palestinians from the Israeli regime.

Some legislators describe calls by EU leaders for a two-state solution as empty rhetoric.

Analysts say the EU will never take action against Israel so long as the United States continues to pull the strings.

The corruption scandal currently shaking the European Parliament is raising suspicion around support being expressed by certain lawmakers for countries engaged in crimes against humanity.

In this context perhaps it's worth noting that a fairly large number of legislators vehemently defended the regime in Tel Aviv during this debate.
