BRICS summit

China’s capital Beijing hosts 14th BRICS Summit where President Xi has urged BRICS nations to oppose unilateral sanctions. He said BRICS must act to inject positive, stable, and constructive forces into world.

Russian President Putin also called on BRICS nations to cooperate in face of West’s “selfish actions.” Brazil, Russia, India, China initially formed BRIC in 2009, South Africa joined in 2010.

BRICS countries represent approximately 40 percent of global population, accounting for about 25 percent of global economy.
