Canada cancels football friendly with Panama after Iran

The Canada National Football Team went on strike, only 2 hours before their match with Panama on Sunday, forcing another friendly to be called off, as hundreds of fans lingered outside the stadium.

It’s been said that the team's refusal to play, mainly revolves around a dispute with the country's football association over the World Cup prize money.

It’s not the first time Canada has cancelled a game scheduled for the current international window.

They were initially set to host Iran on the same date, but it was cancelled over the same excuse.

Now, since the cancellation of these 2 games could have some legal repercussions, the Canadian football association has instructed the players to take the blame, in an attempt to avoid possible damages to the governing body, as a result of political interventions.
