The Merseyside Reds had to wait until the 75th minute to break the deadlock, when Brazil striker Roberto Firmino headed the ball home from a corner kick.
Seven minutes later, Liverpool killed off the contest after the Egyptian Superstar Mohammad Salah scored the second with a deflected effort. Liverpool will host Serie A champions at Anfield, on the 8th of March.
