On UN’s Int’l Solidarity Day, Palestinians still battling to get their rights

Every year, November twenty nine is marked globally as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people aimed at drawing attention to their struggle.

This day was designated by the United Nations in 1977. On this day, Palestinians stress they will continue to defend their lands amid an acceleration of Tel Aviv’s aggression.

Palestinians say they were let down after some Arab states have signed normalization deals with Israel, these ties, simply, undermine efforts for Palestinian state, they add.

After all these years, the Palestinians feel they are caught alone, experts say because the United States continues to impose pressure on countries supporting the Palestinians and their cause, while standing by the occupation regime which goes on with its violence and colonization. Palestinians are in need for real action from the global community.

The UN meanwhile has renewed commitment to the Palestinian people, and its Secretary-General António Guterres called upon the international community to reaffirm its commitment to the people of Palestine in building their future. Guterres tweeted on Sunday, that the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory remains a challenge to international peace and security.

Unfortunately, Palestinian rights remain usurped under Israel’s occupation. Over 40 years have passed since the UN’s declaration of the International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian people, and the Arab nation is still hoping to establish an independent state.
