Academic high-tech development

Research, driven by scientific inquiry, plays a significant role in product development. At its core, advanced technology is created by adding valuable features to items that have specialized uses. Academic and research institutions are the bridge between ideas and marketable products and several universities across Iran are providing services to help support knowledge-based start-ups.

Over the years several high-tech developing firms have been born from the support of growth programs at various universities and academic research institutions. Most universities call these programs Roshd Centers which are specifically designed to incubate startups and entrepreneurship.

The center is a platform that supports and cultivates the creation and developments of new businesses in the field of advanced technology development as they start up. Such programs provide services to entrepreneurial teams to successfully implement their ideas and help them compete in national and global markets. These services include offering work space facilities, and managerial, technical, and legal consultations.

Usually, startups are incubated at these centers for around three to five years. But universities are not the only place where incubators are found. Science and technology parks are also another area that offer similar 4 services to knowledge-based start-up and high-tech developing businesses. There are some 42 tech parks and 186 incubators currently nationwide.
