Resistance strikes US al-Tanf Base

Resistance forces have attacked a US military base in Syria. This is the first time the illegal military installation, located in al Tanaf, was directly hit, in what has been described as a coordinated operation using sophisticated weaponry.

It comes just a few days after Israeli warplanes, flying from the direction of the American base, bombed Syria, leaving 1 Syrian soldier dead and wounding 3 others. It also follows a terrorist attack in central Damascus killed which 14 Syrian military personnel. So why is this attack on al Tanf so significant? This American base had never been attacked up until this point so why now?

How come Israeli planes decided to fly in from the direction of al Tanf, instead of the occupied Syrian Golan Heights like they usually do? And why did Israel just bomb Damascus using a surface-to-surface missile instead of the usual airstrikes? Does this mean a shift in the balance of power? Or are we seeing new rules of engagement being established on the ground?
